The Penghu islands, also known as Pescadores from the Portuguese, meaning "fishermen", are an archipelago off the western coast of Taiwan in the Taiwan Strait consisting of 90 small islands and islets covering an area of 141 square kilometers. The beautiful scenery of Penghu has constantly attracted thousands of tourists throughout the year.

The romantic idea of door-to-door bike journey from Hsinchu to Penghu has come across my mind for a long time. Why not try it during this spring vacation when I go back to my hometown this time?

I left my apartment at 5:10 am, and took the bus leaving from Hsinchu train station to downtown Taipei at 5:20 am.

Arrived Taipei at 6:35 am.  I used to take the taxi to the airport from here.  This time, I decided to try door-to-door and ride my IF Reach to Taipei Airport from the bus stop.

The building in the upper left corner is a famous temple in Taipei.

It took me 12 minutes of riding to the airport.  I was very excited and praying the bicycle would not be damaged when it arrived my hometown Penghu.

I stopped outside the airport, and started packing the bike into the carry bag.

It only took me 4 minutes for packing the bike.  I used various protection methods to ensure the bike would not be damaged.

The airport was jam-packed, and the airline staff told me that each flight was sold out.

Bird-eye view of my hometown from the flight.

Another bird-eye view shot of a small island I visited before.

Landing time! It’s my first time to see the airplane’s own shadow. (8:51 am)

Hopefully the bike would be alright.

God bless me! The bike safely arrived, and I started to unfold my IF Reach.

The airport staff told me there was a service station for bike riders in the airport, where I was able to borrow the bike air pump.

Air pumping time!

I stored the carry bag in the locker for free (only deposit of NT$100 required).  What a great service in the airport!

Right after landing in my hometown, I started to feel the friendly atmosphere around me.  I was very thankful to those people who had helped me in the airport. (9:26 am)

On my way home, I could smell the familiar air and see the familiar trees down the road. Home sweet home! Here I come!

The 1st IF Reach photo I took in Penghu (also known as Chrysanthemum
Island).  Although it was a sunny day, it was not as hot as summer.  This is a perfect time to visit Penghu!

What a small world! I bumped into my uncle and aunt on my way home.  They were surprised that I rode the bike home directly from the airport.

I was getting close to my home.

Every relative was surprised that I cycled home from the airport.  One of them even asked me whether I also rode the bike from Hsinchu to Taipei.

The gentleman on the left is my dad.  My parents arrived one day earlier.  Last but not least, I’m proud to announce that my IF Reach door-to-door plan from Hsinchu to Penghu had come to success!
